Explain how you go about creating a solution to an RFP

Explained that while I don't respond to an RFP myself, in my current position as a presales manager, I am intimately familiar with the process. Started off with the early stage sales support with credentials decks, RFI responses and such, since involvement of a presales person from early on in the cycle is important. Then once the opportunity comes in, take through qualification, team formation, pursuit planning, response template creation, responsibility assignment and status tracking. Then for the solution itself, look at the written down objectives as well as cues from the sales person/market to understand the hot buttons. Define a solution around those. Then put that through commercials. Then write up the solution while keeping RFP instructions as well as presales best practices in mind, and beautify it for submission.
