Colloquio
I only ever spoke with the recruiter, and never head back with any follow-up. Our conversation was fairly typical and she was pleasant, but scheduling this phone call was challenging and did make me wonder about the overall company state of disorganization.
We missed our first scheduled interview, because the recruiter called me at the appointed time, but in HER time zone, despite her having clearly listed the time for the interview as pacific time.
We scheduled a second interview and two days before it was to take place to email me to see if I would prefer a different time. I said "no, I wasn't free to talk then" and she confirmed that the call would then take place at the original planned time. Which did happen, but on a different day than the original call had been planned for.

After sending my resume, I received an email offering to do a phone interview in the next few days. Did the phone interview (30-40 min) on a friday and I was told they will be in contact in the next few days. Indeed they contacted me the following thursday.

Overall this was a pretty typical and easy interview process. 1 phone screen, then an onsite with three individual interviews. The first two people I met with in person were fine. They were both friendly and personable, and had pretty typical interview questions.
The final person I met with was not part of their design hierarchy. As far as I can tell, the whole reason she came in to interview me at all was to just immediately try to downplay my skills and experience as not valuable, and basically badger me about salary.
Ultimately I was given an offer for a contract position, and they wanted to open conversation about hourly rates. I sent them an opening rate, a week goes by, I hear nothing. I email them, another week goes by, I hear nothing again. Then I get a reply that they have decided to rescind the offer with no reason given. It really seems like they were trying to lock me up for a few weeks while they were still weighing other options, which is a pretty shady move.
