I am not sure when you interviewed for this role but the last time we did interviews for a web developer in London was in 2022. I am also not sure who you would have met but I cannot believe for one minute that our current Head of Tech would ask that question. It is also not logical (unless it was meant as a test question) - if they didn't think you were as good as the more qualified candidates they wouldn't have wasted time interviewing you. But I am sorry that your experience wasn't more positive and wish you all the best at future interviews.
