For some time I have been trying to get with Fiserv, a target company of mine. Despite multiple applications submitted AND help of an internal Fiserv employee, I never got a response to ANY of these. Just the standard rejection. I gave up on Fiserv. If this is how they operate and treat potential new employees then they are not for me. Then out of the blue on a Thursday I got a call from recruiter asking to do a phone screen. I accepted. This call went amazing. The recruiter said to me "You are exactly what we are looking for". We talked about and agreed on a salary. I was even given a possible hire date, assuming I got hired. I felt good about this. Next step was to arrange a video call with hiring manager the following Monday. I was told I would get an email by end of day Friday. This never happened. Monday morning I got a call from the recruiter. I was told the feedback about me based on my interview with the hiring manager went excellent and they want to move forward. I interrupted asking what interview - you are the only person I spoke with. The recruiter then realized she was talking to the wrong person. She had me confused with someone else. The recruiter stated she would get with the correct hiring manager and get back to me by end of day today, which didn't happen. End of day Tuesday, I got the standard "your qualifications were impressive but we are moving on with another candidate". I was confused as our phone screen went so well. I never even got the opportunity to interview further. It wouldn't surprise me if the recruiter had me confused with someone else again. I asked for feedback but never got it. Overall a horrible experience. The recruiter was very disorganized, confused and simply not "with it". Safe to say I will not be seeking Fiserv for any job opportunities.
