The interview process was monotonous. I will say all the employees at Groundswell are very kind and compassionate humans. But, first I had an initial interview with two staffers then moved on to a team interview which was more difficult because it involved situational questions. Next, I was asked to do an online strengths assessment which is helpful for all future jobs so this aspect was interesting. After the strengths assessment, I received a call saying that they wanted to move me to the final rounds of this process and I would please send them my references. At this point, I assumed I would be offered the position. Instead, I received an email stating that they were now interviewing other candidates but they were still interested in my candidacy. More emails were sent with similar messages for another 3 weeks. Finally I recieved an email stating that I was one of the top 3 finalists but I needed to complete a written exercise and then present that write-up to the staff in a formal presentation. It was a difficult assignment essentially asking me to lay out my plan for the role. I spent a lot of time thoughtfully completing this assignment and preparing for the presentation. I was told I would find out within 3-5 business days. Instead, I waited some more, my email asking for an update went unanswered for a few days until I received a call 10 days after my presentation interview informing me that I did not receive the role. Again, the folks at this org were very kind to me during all stages of the process but I wish there had been more transparent and effective communication and keep in mind the length of the process. The entire process probably took around 8-10 weeks.
