I got a call back three days after my application. It was straight forward, the manager asked whether I could prove my right to work in the UK and then scheduled me into one of their group interviews which took place 3 days later. The group interview consisted of 14 other applicants, run by the store manager, a department manager and a guest manager from another location. They kicked off the interview with a presentation about the company and the store structure. Here they asked trivia questions about the fashion-retail industry. They then talked about the goals and values of the store and expectations for the role. Throughout the presentation, they asked questions in a very casual manner watching the applicants for participation. At any time, two of the three where observing and taking notes on everyone. For the next activity we got markers and pages and had to make a poster about ourselves, then went around the table to present to the group. We got a tour of the store and then had a performance assessment to gauge suitability for the role. We were each assigned an area of the shop floor to maintain. Tidying up the racks, straightening hangers and making the product presentable. We also had a rail of clothes from the fitting room to sort and return to the correct places. During this activity the managers roamed around, watching everyone and answering any questions. They were looking or engagement and skill and learning ability. We returned to the staff room to fill out information forms. We were told to expect a call back within a week if successful.
