How do you handle push back from managers?

Well, as being both an employee and a manager. I’d say the most important thing is to LISTEN. It’s important for that other person to be heard, offer up suggestions and possibly solutions to the issue at hand. If you’re complacent or even so much as showing indifference, managers will shut down. They want to see someone with a positive attitude and a person who is actively looking for solutions. I’ve learned that fighting any sort of change is a surefire way to get that severance check. Don’t fight, be positive and work together to find a common ground. You’re both in search of the same goal after all, right? A steady job, a paycheck and possibly retirement with the company you’re applying to. Good luck.
