      Colloquio

I am superbly impressed by the entire hiring process at Infoblox. The team uses software and tools to keep conversations tracked and documented from day one. My recruitment process was overseen by Anshul, the Technical Recruiter and Seep, coordination and general questions. They are professional, accommodating, and informative. In addition, they are quick to address questions and always keep me updated on changes. The Process: First was a call with the technical recruiter. I spoke to Anshul, (Canada/North America). The recruiter provides more detail on Infoblox and answers any questions about the organization. I was very impressed by the depth of knowledge and professionalism exhibited by Anshul! By the end of the screening call, I was already eager to become a “Bloxer”. I was told the process would continue with 3-5 (virtual) interviews; one of which will be with the Hiring Manager and the rest will be Technical Interviews with the team. It is also a requirement to complete an aptitude test. There is no requirement to do all the interviews on the same day. I split them up over a few days. Behavioural Interview: Behavioural questions are reflective of questions you may find online. What draws you to Infoblox? How do you deal with conflict? How do you prioritize or handle multiple (potentially conflicting) deadlines? There are some questions on technical behaviour (programming language preferences, code reviews). These questions were very open ended and I believe it’s an opportunity to demonstrate technical work habits and critical thinking processes. I also asked about the team dynamics and management methods. I found this interview very fun! Technical Interviews: The technical interviews are broken down into roughly three categories: A coding component, a (small) behavioural component, and a knowledge-based component: Coding questions are tailored to the skill set you have described in your resume. For myself, it was around SQL (joins and aggregations using group by/window functions) and python (string manipulation questions, uses of common data structures, etc.). Technical knowledge based questions would be the same, it will be based on your skill set. This is to see how you have approached problem solving historically and also how the depth of knowledge of the tech stack you have shown on the resume. I received a question on what I would do to speed up query responses times and another on how I would salvage lost messages in a stream. They may also ask about the stack you use in your current role. Aptitude test: I think it may vary according to country, mine was 40 Questions’s in 20 minutes. Most of it was around logic/pattern recognition/spatial analysis. The recruitment team will give you a study guide. I *highly* recommend reviewing the study guide and practicing some of the techniques shared there. In addition, the sample tests provided should give you a good idea of how you will perform during the aptitude test. Note: if you reside outside of US, the aptitude test has no language section. Final Thoughts: All the folks that I met in the interviewing process from recruiter to HR to Managers and senior team members embody Infoblox values. I had a wonderful time getting to know the team and am very excited to be joining this company.
