After having an early stage interview with Intel recruiter at my University I was invited for an on-site interview. At Intel I was interviewed by team members, managers and arial managers. The process started at 9am and ended at 4pm. They were mainly interested to see if I was a good fit for their team. Previous background and skills did not matter. All that mattered was that I have PhD in some science discipline or no. At the beginning I was interviewed by two team members. They asked me specific and detailed questions about any conflicts I have had in the past and what did I do to resolve it. They were mainly focusing on pas conflicts. After that, there was a technical interview. They did not ask anything outside of my previous work. I had to explain in short what my PhD is about and to give details about difficulties with my research and how were resolved. after tech. interview I gave a 45min presentation to yet another group of people followed by various questions related to my presentation. It is very important to show them your contributions. Then we had a presentation from areal manager who gave us a Fab window tour. We had a nice chat with him during lunch. After that, there were two more, hour long interviews with team manager and areal manager. Team manager gave details on what is the job about. About difficulties of the job etc. He asked usual question about my work and again, to describe problems I had during my PhD. I got to ask many questions since about half of interviews were his questions and half were mine so get prepared. Overall it was very nice experience and I am waiting for their decision.

Process begins with a phone screen with recruiter, followed by hiring manager discussion, then onsite interviews consisting of several one-on-one sessions, where candidates are usually expected to deliver a presentation.
