After applying online, I was contacted by a recruiter from JP Morgan Chase to schedule a phone screening interview. The recruiter asked about my banking background, customer relationship experience, and why I was interested in the Private Client Banker role.

Normally they hire internally but I imagine they would also hire externally given that you similar background/ experience. I was first a relationship banker at Chase and that interviewing process consisted of an online assessment test (some arithmetics and personality questions), telephone interview with the recruiter, face-to-face interview with the branch manager (about 1-1.5 hours, the set questions should be available on various online forums).
The interview for Private Client Banker (PCB) was a face-to-face interview with the District Manager (manager above branch manager) and the private client banker manager (usually oversees the PCBs in a certain geographic region)

Takes over 3 months from application to hire, the process is extremely long and confusing because hiring managers are in other states and no one knows who is following up on him

I had an interview via zoom with 2 managers. They were very polite. They explained what the role was and asked if I had any questions. After that, they went straight to the STAR questions. They said they would get to me in a couple weeks with their decision. They came back with an offer but I turned it down due to another opportunity.
