Was reached out by an agency. Had two rounds of interview. First with a principal engineer in the company. Questions were around .Net and it's ecosystem. Cleared that round. Next round was with the VP. This round also went well, with most of the requirements aligning to my experience. Post that was ghosted with no contact. Later I reached out to the agency where they said I was not shortlisted, maybe the requirements did not align, which I differ to believe due to the conversation that happened in the interview. My only take would be due to compensation they could not afford, hence did not move forward. This thing I had already clarified with the agency that this should not happen at the later stages as we put in our time and effort for each round, and was promised that it won't happen. Later, even the agency did not provide a proper closure to the candidature. Very unprofessional from the company. They should not interview if they are not able to match the salary expectations. Wasting everyone's time.
