The first interview was standard interview questions with the office manager at the time. I was then asked if I planned on "getting pregnant any time soon", which I declined to answer as it was needlessly personal, not to mention a question that cannot be asked during an interview. I was then told "well it's in the water here so make sure your birth control is up to date". I'm not sure why I accepted the invitation for a second interview, which I was told was going to be a computer skills test, but ended up much different. The manager wasn't even at the office, which I came to find out was a regular occurrence. I was sat down in front of a computer and given free access to patient records and information and was told to "just play around with the system". This wasn't so much an interview as it was free labor as I was then directed to do the front office's busywork they had fallen behind on. Meanwhile one of the front desk workers was going over how they generally handled things in the office. Through that I came to find out it wasn't uncommon for them to wheel disabled patients out to the curb, regardless of weather, to wait for their Access bus to pick them up so they "wouldn't crowd up the waiting room and be more of a problem than they already are". Needless to say I was horrified by the whole ordeal and turned down the offer. I've since been contacted twice to see if I would come back for additional interviews as other employees have left the office.
