An atrocious and frankly shocking experience.
I was asked to apply for this role and, despite repeated recommendations by the recruiter to Land Securities regarding my experience, HR removed me from the interview experience stating that "they don't hire people with 2:2 university degrees"; this shows a severe disregard for my 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
This is shocking given the company's CEO Robert Noel — on their own careers/diversity page — states that he is "...a strong believer that people should be appointed into job roles based on merit irrespective of gender, race, age or any other discriminating factor" — the irony.
You hear about this kind of elitism occurring in FTSE 100 companies, but it's not until you experience it that you realise how very real it still is today.

We are sorry that your candidate experience was clearly not up to our high standards. Following an internal investigation and after liaising with the external recruitment company, I understand that one of our HR Managers has been in contact with you. We believe this issue has now been resolved.
