      Colloquio per Marketing Communications

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 9 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Library of Congress (Washington, DC)

      Colloquio

A full five months after I applied to the job, I had a phone interview. The HR specialist who scheduled it didn't give me much info, so I went in pretty blind. Thought I blew it, but two months later got scheduled for an in-person interview. I met with two people, both of whom were very friendly. They followed a script with interview questions (many which were redundant to my application and previous phone interview), but they also allowed time for me to offer more info off the cuff and ask questions. The whole process took about 50 minutes. While I sensed that my interviewers were going through the motions, they did a good job engaging with me in a genuine way. Unfortunately, it's now two months later and I haven't heard a single word. I can safely assume I don't have the job but I resent that I've received no contact or updates. My guess is that a few weeks (hopefully not months?) from now I'll get some kind of impersonal government email notifying me the position's been filled.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

Beyond the classic "Tell us about your background" and "Why are you interested in this job," most questions almost exactly replicated the ones on my original job application, for example having me summarize relevant skills, the computer programs I know, and my experience working in team environments. It was pretty bland and by the book. Things got more "real" and candid when I was able to ask questions of my own. I had several prepared in advance, which allowed me to open up new avenues of conversation.
