I would NOT recommend interviewing at this bank. They will string you along, collect personal and professional information from you and verbally tell you they will make you an offer - and then it's crickets.
After about 10 interviews for a Director role where the 'hiring manager wants to immediately hire you,' and told me they would make me an offer, I never received further correspondence from HR. Even after my emails and calls, they didn't have the courtesy to at least notify me of their decision.
If they treat potential candidates like this, I can't imagine how they treat their employees.
I was also told that the Japanese management makes all the decisions in the US, so US offices have no power over their American operations.

Attended several rounds of interviews over a period of 5 months but got ghosted despite multiple follow ups with HR. Was told that I will be notified but no news at all.
Multiple rounds of interviews. Each one includes one senior person from Japan. A lot of emphasis of cultural fitment. Interviews are thorough and rigorous. Questions range from skills, situational leadership, passion for the role and long term relationship.
