They use a hiring agency for hiring called express employment pros. They have you file out the application online or in person at the hiring agency location. Then you have to take a test to get an interview. This isn't a previous employment questionnaire kind of test. This test is 5 hours long!! I cannot disclose what is on the test because that would be breaking the law. it's basically common sense and things you cannot prepare for anyways because you either get it or you don't. If you pass this test then you take a drug test for the hiring agency and sometimes they will have a good class/ interview-prep if there is enough people, express gives you papers and goes over what to prepare for at the interview at the emergency communications center where you will have between 2-4 people in a room interviewing you. YOU NEED TO STUDY!!! You must know mapping of the county. Where certain stores are, what intersections, streets and avenues, all the cities in the county, etc.Then you will have a test where you sit in front of a computer and they will read a few lines and you try to type as much as you can correctly of a situation and certain descriptions of clothing or size, age. You have to do a multitasking test where you tell a story or talk about yourself and separate a deck of cards at the same time into clubs, hearts, etc! Then you leave and express will call you and tell you if you got the job or not. Hardest interview I have ever had but i got the job! Also dress very nice when you go for your interview.
