I was called in on an interview on a nursing medsurg floor. The interview process was easy. They are desperate like any other hospital. They usually ask about availability and start dates, and more interested in finding out when you can start.

I met with the person in charge of hiring, and the interview was a surprisingly poor experience. Many of the interview questions were not pertinent to the matter at hand and a few of them felt outright unprofessional.

First step in the interview process consisted of a phone screen. General questions asked about previous experience. I was asked during the phone screen why I wanted to work for the hospital and unit I applied for. After securing an in person interview, I worked with the unit manager and unit secretary for scheduling dates. A panel interview was conducted with the unit manger, day/night charge nurses, and 2 unit staff RNs.
