Colloquio per Talent & Inclusion Data Analyst

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 2 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Mercer nel mese di mag 2018

      Colloquio

Two days after applying I had a phone screen with a recruiter who was really enthused about my candidacy and shortly after that I was scheduled to meet with the hiring manager via video conference. I think the hiring manager I met with was biased. I'm a woman of color and she was white. She didn't ask me any questions about my experience or skills. Instead she asked me a really weird, sort of random question about if I had experience with european data policies which wasn't listed in the job description and was something that could be learned on the job.. She spent the majority of the time talking about how she would have to reject really great candidates so I shouldn't take it too hard if I don't hear back. At this point, I knew I wouldn't be moving forward because it seemed like she immediately made up her mind about me but she still told me I should hear back within two weeks. It's been two months and haven't even received a rejection letter. This is a HR consulting firm so I'm really disappointed that they treat candidates this way. And the irony is not lost on me that I felt I had a biased interviewer for a role focused on inclusion.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on your interview experience with Mercer. We are disappointed to hear that you felt it wasn’t an inclusive and open process. Our diverse and inclusive culture is something that all of our colleagues take a great deal of pride in and something that we think makes Mercer a fantastic place to work. As a global company with a Global Talent & Inclusion CoE, we are generally interested in any experience our candidates have both within and outside of the US, even if the role is US-based. In terms of response to candidates who have interviewed with us, we like to take a personal approach with our recruiters contacting candidates directly via phone with a decision vs. communicating a decision through a traditional rejection letter. We apologize if expectations regarding our verbal response to you vs. a formal letter were not set. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and we wish you the best in your job search.
