Technical phone interview followed up by an in person interview at client site. Phone interview with senior employee from the potential client site establishes that there is a basic grasp of the position and ensuring potential employee has relevant experience. The in person interview is done with the program manager of the client site. The in person interview covers everything related to the position and allows for the applicant to ask questions.
