I got a call from recruiter in mid-November & was shared open role of Sales Head at this company. I researched about the company, its offerings & find it really interesting as this is hardware technology, people management & AI related business in India focusing on logistics.
First step, I had a telephonic round with the HR head at Bangalore post which I was asked to visit their office to meet their VP-Engg & CEO in person. It was end-Nov 2019. She told that they will take over a week time as they interview other candidates & will revert back. Recruiter was mentioned that HR head will manage the communication directly with the candidate.
Early Dec, I was told that they are going ahead to offer me & asked for my salary expectations. Recruiter confirmed to me in the beginning that company has the budget for the role as per Industry experience.
I was asked for couple of reference checks & documents for making an offer. After a week, the HR head called me sharing an offer with compensation which was lesser then my current compensation. I said No to that offer & I was told that they have budget constraints & it would revert back.
Recruiter have no idea on this. Overall, I was impressed with my interaction with its senior leaders and clarity of business approach that its CEO had. At the same time, I didn't like their incommunicado, treatment of external people (prospective employees & recruiter-vendor) & lack of preparation. Overall 1.5 months taken with no outcome & communication.
