Sewing test: shorten sleeves, sides thru blades, waist seat crotch (timed test) followed by a fitting test. Here’s my actual experience: I’m a female, and I arrived wearing slacks, sweater, and a sports coat. The woman interviewing me didn’t seem to approve of my attire. It was subtle and nonverbal. I accidentally let slip that I’m married to a woman (I used the word ‘wife’ and she made me repeat myself). And the tailor shop was blaring Christian music through the entire test. I did inquire if this was a personal choice or if it was the company norm. She chose it personally to better her English. I did point out that there were other stations that would do the same thing for her. She didn’t care to reply. I was so frustrated by the time I finished the assigned alterations that I botched the fitting test. Safe to safe I didn’t get the position haha

I came two to times at my appointed time and the tailor shop manager wasn't there. I waited for about an hour and was told tan he is not coming. Second time he called me on my way back home and talked about another appointment. On the interview he said that the team is like family and my question was if we can talk and make phone calls. All of that was a lie. No phone are even allowed in a room and there was no teamwork as I learned from experience working there. After I started to work, he demanded me to cut my nails , on the interview he never mentioned anything like that. Among requirements he said were shoes with a closed toe and no sleeveless tops, bus people were wearing it anyway to my surprise.

I always find it hard when a manager asks if you see yourself being a manager of this shop in a couple of years. If you say "Yes", it can sound like a threat to him, if you say "No", it considered as a lack of enthusiasm.
