      Colloquio

I was told by a friend who works there that most everyone who applies of sound health and background will get the job. She's right. The interview consisted of a tour, and a 1:1. In the 1:1, the manager told me about the job, asked me if I could do it and then asked if I could make it to the next training session, provided everything else checked out. Then I went to the main building, and took a test for personality/basic math skills. They took fingerprints for a background check and then sent me to take a urine drug test. The people were nice, at least during the interview, but they didn't seem to know how to operate their computer system and had to call in someone to help. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because they had just moved offices. This workplace is always desperate for people, since the turnover rate is so high, though, and it shows in their interviewing process. Be very careful about when you interview--I came in while most of the residents were gone and wasn't prepared for what happened when I came to work. Try to schedule your observation hour at dinner time so you know what you're getting into. Just be honest with yourself as to whether you can handle what goes on at your location or not. The residents are people, and they want reliable people to stay with them and help them grow.
