I applied internally to transfer from one state to another. I had a 4-person panel interview, passed with flying colors, and was told I had the job within a week. They tell me I will have an offer letter in three days. Three days passes, and no letter. Two weeks pass, and nothing. A month passes, nothing. Six week pass, and still no letter. This entire time they tell me that "they're just doing paperwork and awaiting a director's signature" Finally, I get a call from the recruiter telling me there have been budget cuts, and that they must rescind the offer letter. For these six weeks, I stopped looking for a job, which basically halted my job search for an entire two months. This was among the least professional hiring process I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. They have no respect for you or your time.
