The interview was very thorough and informative. I was referred by another financial representative in the company, so I was informed beforehand what they were looking for and what the interviews would entail. Once you fill-out an application, you will meet face-to-face with a local recruiter from that office. He/she will ask you some general questions, get a feel for what you're looking for, and then will set-up another face-to-face interview if he/she likes you. During the interim, you will have to take two online personality tests. If you don't score high enough, you will automatically be declined. Typically the second or third meeting will be a face-to-face with someone in management. They will give you a better idea of what the job entails and see if you're a prime candidate. If that member of management likes you, you will be given an assignment to be completed in about a week or two. You must interview about 15+ people and ask them some financial discovery questions. It's pretty easy, but it takes quite a bit of time. The company is trying to determine whether or not you are serious about the position. After finishing the assignment, you will need to study and pass your Producer's Life, Accident, and Health Exam. You won't be contracted until you have it. After you have secured your license, you will go to training school for one week. After you finish training school, you're off to the races! The interview process is actually quite long, but they're trying to determine whether or not you're serious about working for the company. It's a tough career, so they don't want you to waste your time or theirs. Even if the career is not for you, you will at least experience a great interview process and get a good idea of what the company is all about.

There were four or five interviews, if you count the meeting with my future mentor. There were also a few personality assessments. Lots of paperwork. The finance industry is tightly regulated.
