The process took a few weeks. Oden was flexible and willing to move as slow or as fast as I wanted.
The CTO reached out to talk about an opportunity so we met for coffee to discuss my goals and how they might align with Oden's. It seemed like a good fit, so I took a take-home that led to an onsite for three interviews. While onsite we spontaneously added a fourth, casual interview - a one on one with another engineer - because I wasn't pressed for time that day and was happy to stick around to meet some other people. A week passed before I returned onsite for an interview with the CEO and a few days later I met with the CTO once more over coffee to discuss the offer.
Overall, the process was incredibly smooth.

Oden's interview was fair every step of the way. From the initial screening chat, quick take home task, and on-site interview, I felt as if I were being interviewed as a person and not just a robot who writes code. Every step probed my technical intuition and experience as well as personal stories, sharing lessons learned from past failures, and just talking to me along the way. After the on-site, I felt as if Oden, among the various companies I interviewed at, had learned the most about me personally than other companies I interviewed at. The on-site technical challenges were open ended discussions with a few members where we collaborated at a white board discussing open-ended questions together, compared to the HackerRank regurgitation-style interviews I experienced elsewhere. This seems more representative of how small company teams work together so I feel like I was fairly evaluated for my capabilities.
The thing I liked the most was Oden sharing it's company mission and values during the process in the form of a multi-page presentation before I came on-site. It highlighted the unique mission of the company (which I really liked) and it's values, how Oden works with their values, etc. This was important to me to find a place that had a positive company mission and values aligned with my personal interests to use my talent for good, while doing good.
