Good first interview (online) but very poor trial shift experience a couple of weeks later. My shift time was moved back at the last minute without explanation and I was kept an hour later than scheduled without being asked if that was OK. Trial was also supposed to incorporate a meeting with the owner, which never took place. Trial lasted around 4 hours and included running the box office alone during a busy showing, remaining beyond my scheduled shift finish time to clean that same screen alone and offering to clean up flooding in the male bathrooms but told not to bother as "it's been like that for months anyway" - despite this the feedback from the unsuccessful trial was that I wasn't "hands-on" enough. Given that trial took place with a prospective subordinate manager rather than a senior hiring manager and that no follow-up interview took place to share experiences and business ideas etc. from my trial, overall I can't help but feel abused for free labour.
