3 rounds of interviews: Round 1: A standard phone screening with HR to determine my eligibility for the role. Round 2: An in-person interview with the department head, who happened to be an absolute pleasure to speak with. Round 3: An intense, all-day event consisting of 5 phone and in-person interviews with 6 members of the team. From my perspective, the phone calls and interviews went well. I had one phone call in the morning and 4 meetings and phone calls at Otsuka in the afternoon. Because I spent 4+ hours at the Otsuka office, the office manager was my “handler.” While very professional and nice, the office manager didn’t seem to have a full handle on my schedule. On several occasions throughout my interviews, the office manager would interrupt the meetings and calls to see if I had moved onto the next meeting or call. Really? Why not just look at my schedule. Anyway, although I thought the interviews went well, I was ghosted by Otsuka – not even an automated “thanks but no thanks.” Frustrating given the time commitment and scheduling right before a major holiday.
