Initial contact via email with a corporate recruiter who set up a phone interview with someone at least moderately knowledgeable with Linux in a production environment. I didn't knock this interview out of the ballpark, mostly due to my mis-interpreting a database question. Afterwards I was asking myself "why would they give me such a softball question?" and I realized there was another way of interpreting what was asked. Ah, well - at least this person recommended that I continue on with the process. A second recruiter was brought in to set up this next phone interview, although the first recruiter wanted to make sure that I knew I was to continue to deal with her. The second phone interview was also a practical exam where the interviewer sent me an ssh key and had me log into a Linux VM to diagnose some misconfigured services. The interview and practical test took about an hour total, after which the interviewer stated that they would be in touch. The next day an email arrived stating that the company was not interested in pursuing the process anymore. I can't say I blame them as I didn't really shine during their interviews, but I think I might have presented better had the process been person-to-person. All in all I felt that I had been treated fairly. Best of luck to both future potential employees and to Palantir itself.
