A PayPal recruiter reached out to me after finding my contact information on LinkedIn, I did not see her initial email to which she followed up again, interested in setting up a screening call between her and I to discuss the role and if it would be a match with my skills. After setting up time to chat, the recruiter called me 30 minutes after she stated she'd call and rushed the call explaining she didn't have much time. The recruiter followed up by sending over the job link to apply and asked for a copy of my resume via email which I sent over immediately. About a week later the recruiter followed up with me again, with an email that sounded very similar to the first one wanting to chat on the phone again, the recruiter also asked for my resume again although I had already sent it. Reluctantly, I scheduled another phone interview with the recruiter and on the call it became obvious she forgot that we already had a screener call as she repeated everything from the first call, asked me all of the same questions, and even asked for my resume for the 3rd time. As the call was ending she let me know that she would be reaching back out by the end of the week with next steps. Instead of hearing back from the recruiter I received an automated email from PayPal that they would not be moving forward with me in the interview process. Not being chosen to move forward was fine, but the process to get to this point seemed like a huge waste of time, especially considering the recruiter reached out to me first based on my qualifications on LinkedIn.
