Had me come to the store and I interviewed with the Store Manager. I was seated in the dog training area to wait for the store manager. While I was waiting the Dog/Cat manager did a quick interview with me (asking questions about my work history). After that the store manager finally sat down with me. He was really nice, but I could tell they weren't going to hire me.

Simple straightforward. Present yourself as professional. As long as you demonstrate a passion for all pets and have positive energy, you would be a great candidate. They also do hiring days where you can be hired on the spot.
