2 calls with team members going over project and then technicals, then final. Seems to be some messiness going on with external recruiters. Don't get caught in the crossfires. Also compared to other industry peers, the team seems a bit out of touch with how "commoditized" their work is. It's valuable work but it's pretty standard across the industry... You're SDAs not Open AI researchers, have some self-awareness... I've interviewed for similar positions at other funds and they always ask "Why are you interviewing for this position not quant/research heavy DS position? This is more of a fundamental analyst who knows statistics position not quant position". Point 72 already has some bad reputation with their interview process but it seemed like things were improving. I wouldn't have picked up the recruiter call otherwise so this is really a huge slap in the face.
