      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Potomac Advisory Group (Alexandria, VA) nel mese di mag 2013

      Colloquio

The company called me in for an initial interview. Upon arrival I was asked two questions along the lines of "what are you looking for a job" and "tell me about your previous jobs" then scheduled a second interview. The second interview consisted of shadowing their current sales executives (basically following them from 9-5 on their sales) The actual shadow consisted of going on sales in their employee's personal vehicle which they are assigned local territory to go on door to door sales for local businesses (I was accompanied by another interviewee who was also trying to learn about the position) these local businesses consisted of family owned restaurants, starbuck chains and any other business that the territory consisted of. To sum up the second interview/job shadow, not only did the company mention that verizon was one of their main clients but practically their only client. What they fail to mention during the first interview is that they do door to door sales for verizon. The shadowing experience was extremely uncomfortable, the sales executive did not make a single sale and this was after following her around for almost a whole day and she had to make a daily quota of two sales. It mainly consisted of businesses becoming frustrated at the soliciting nature of the sale and the fact that many businesses already had verzion and wanted to do updates on their own terms. The position yields for around $35-40,000 but does not mention this to you until mid-second interview. The employees shadow interviewers almost everyday. Think about this.... If you are a qualified, well educated individual you would want a job that is at least more exclusive than walking into an office with 6 or 7 other people who are interviewing at the same time, and that is their daily intake of applicants. Bottom line, they did not have standards in employees, anyone who is willing to do door to door sales will do, but i doubt even 1 out of 20 employees would want to work for this group. So to sum things up, this review will tell you what Potomac Advisory Group will not, 1. The redacted very crucial information about what they do, which is door to door sales selling verizon services. 2. They do not hold high standards for employees, anyone will do, however not many people are willing to do what they do for so little money. 3. They're employees are extremely unprofessional in the nature of what they do, they not only fail to check up on your during a job shadow, they also refused to drive you back to your car and insist you take a cab because they have to continue their door to door sales for the day. Honestly, if you have great sales potential are pushy, assertive and extroverted enough, you would be great for this position for very little money (they make you shadow applicants almost everyday, drive them around in your own car with no gas compensation). Best take your talents elsewhere where you WILL succeed. This company has lost my interest and credibility, and is highly illegitimate. I am writing this review in interest of all its applicants please do not waste your time with them, I am only telling you what you will find out on your own if you interview with them.
