Colloquio
I applied for the IT Systems & Process Improvement Lead position in March 2019 and was contacted mid May 2019 for a phone interview with HR. The phone interview was scheduled for the following Friday. The day of the interview, I waited 45 minutes
for the HR person to call. I emailed the HR person and they responded and noted they'd been in an accident and that we could reschedule for the following week. The following week, it was on a day that I was taking a flight leaving on holiday. Our call was scheduled at 1PM. I didn't receive a call till an hour and 45 minutes later when I was at the airport. I told HR person that I wasn't available till the following week.
We rescheduled for the following week, which was successful and lead to the next phone interview with the hiring manager. I waited 15 minutes for the hiring manager and was heading back to my office when he called. After the call with the hiring manager, they called me for an in person interview.
I felt things were great with the hiring manager. I believe we both knew that I didn't have every ounce of experience per the position being a 2 person role, yet we talked at great lengths of learning and gaining experience and going over what I knew, etc. After meeting with him, I met with his manager whom used two microaggressions toward me. The first, I may have been a bit sensitive. However, when we were walking to the elevator, we were discussing the quietness of the new wing of their office, he laughingly says "Yea, you won't hear any drive-bys up here! Hahaha". I was so shocked, that it took me a second to catch on to what he just said. Then tried to give me some awkward "hip" handshake once we reached the elevator to say goodbye.
Needless to say, I received a call and an email two days later from their HR noting they'd gone with another candidate.
