Colloquio
After applying online, the entire process was about 4 weeks long and consisted of multiple edit tests, a paid 2000-word article ($50), and 2 interviews.
The first test consisted of sending in pitches and editing a few paragraphs from already published articles. Then, they picked one of the pitches and requested a 2000+ word article write-up on it using their style guide and image attribution protocol and paid $50. Next up was a phone interview. Following that, an unpaid and timed 8-hour edit test that consisted of editing 4 unpublished articles (approximately 2000 words each) to prepare them for posting to the site. After that step, an in-person interview with the team.

Colloquio
After applying to three different jobs with the company I finally got a response by applying to the one I was most overqualified for and by making my resume as "quirky" as possible.
Took a timed editing test and a social media framing test (despite it not being a part of the job). Was offered a phone interview that was fine, but a lot of emphasis on what niche areas of knowledge I have.
Was offered in-person interview which involved senior editors, social media staff, and the head of the content team. Everyone was fairly young, though that's the norm in digital media.
Had an offer within three days but it was far below other offers I've had in digital media. I negotiated a bit, but still took a pay cut and thought maybe it would be worth it for a new experience.
