      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un'altra fonte. La procedura ha richiesto 4 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Rawlco Radio (Regina, SK)

      Colloquio

This company approached me for a role full well knowing I'm a Senior Reporter with 10+ years' experience. I was interviewed by two hiring managers and in a nutshell, this was my experience. They: *Wasted my time as there wasn't actually a role on offer, so I'm not sure why they wanted to speak to me *Contacted my referees despite no actual position being available *Repeatedly and annoyingly kept asking me about my ability to meet deadlines (how could I be employed as a reporter for 10+ years if I couldn't meet deadlines? Anyone?) *Didn't review any of the writing assignments I was asked to complete as part of the interview process When I confronted one of the hiring managers about their unprofessional behavior and complained about their recruitment process about 4 months after my first interview, I was told that Rawlco could do/pay whatever they wanted, and take much time as they wanted, as reporters were desperate for work due to the poor economy caused by COVID. They then offered to proceed with the recruitment process and stated they would pay me a C$40,000 starting wage when a role became available. Imagine being a Senior Reporter and being offered that wage. What am I meant to do, live on the street while working? In a nutshell, I was gaslighted by this company so I'm writing this review to call them out. Read the above carefully. These are red flags that depict an abusive work environment for employees: low pay, hard work, overwhelming expectations, and news directors lacking any sort of empathy as they want you to know they can replace you on a whim's notice. This is a company you do not want to work and it will make you hate journalism.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

I'm paraphrasing, but in my group video interview I was literally only asked about the following: *Do you understand what deadlines are? *Can you meet deadlines? *Are you sure you can meet deadlines? *Just checking again, we have tight deadlines to file work. You're sure you can meet deadlines? *Just so we didn't miss it: you said you can meet deadlines? *Lastly, you're totally positively sure you can meet deadlines, right?
