I ran across a Razzoo's job opening for Host/Hostess at the Firewheel location which had just been posted a few days prior to me applying. I applied around 2 am on a Thursday before going to sleep. When I woke up a few hours, I had missed a call from an unknown number. There was no voicemail left, or any follow-up emails to let me know that they wanted to schedule an interview. If I hadn’t decided to google the number I would have never known who was calling. I called the number back, and the manager offered me a time to come in that day at 3 pm for the interview. That time was too soon and would give me little time to prepare so I asked for a later date and time. He offered a time for the next day (Friday) at 3 pm., which I agreed to.
Now onto the interview process, I arrive 5 minutes before 3 pm, where I was greeted by no one. No host, no hiring manager no anyone. A host walks up to me moments later and goes to find the person interviewing me. The person interviewing me approached me in a panicked manner, seeming as though she had actually forgotten about the interview. She directs me to sit at a table while she went to go clean herself up from whatever task she was previously doing. Once she was cleaned up she sat down at the table for the interview.
After the interview, she tells me that they have enough Hosts and offers me a position as a server since they were actually looking for Servers instead. I declined the offer as a Server, and let her know politely that I had applied to be a host. She said that she could hire me as a host but the hours would be minimum (12 hours a week). Hosts here at Razzoo's only make between $4-$5 an hour which would literally amount to barely anything with those hours. She then asks me if I was going to school in the fall because they are looking for people to continue year round. On my application, I made sure to select the option that said Temporary/Seasonal to let them know that I was just that: Temporary. At the end of the interview, she lets me know that due to their budget training wouldn't start until the middle of next week and that she would give me a call during that time to see if I had a change in mind on the position. The interview lasted about 5-6 minutes.
The whole application/interview process for Razzoo's was basically a waste of time since they were not truly looking for the position listed in their job posting. I wish that I could have been informed of the positions they actually had open before coming in for an interview. I do give them props for replying back so fast (within 10 hours).

Too picky despite saying “urgently hiring” and do not pay well. They only provide $5-$8 for host because everything depends on the servers pay. Please do not go for the host position. Interview for server instead because you may make more money.

Really easy and the question were pretty basic. What were your roles previously? Are you good with communicating? Have you ever had to deal with a rude customer and how did you handle it?
