For a one-year fixed-term position, I had to do 5 rounds of interviews. Such complexity is usually reserved for director positions, not Senior Scientist I, 1-year position. Four online and one on-site, where I had to prepare a presentation. Some of these interviews could have been avoided altogether since they were repetitive
