I applied online and was notified 1 week later via email to attend a recruitment event at the Tamworth store. Once I attended there was around 15 other people who turned up for the event. A friendly bunch tbh! A member of staff introduced herself and took us to the footwear department within the store. The entire interview process was conducted here. Each member of the group was asked to introduce themselves and tell one interesting fact about them. The activity was pretty pointless as the blaring music within the store meant we couldn’t hear each other. Eventually we got put into pairs and was asked to create an outfit of our choice and to then explain this within the group. Again this activity was just a let down with the loud music blaring and customers walking between us all. At the end of the interview I was asked to show my identification and this was photographed using a member of staffs iPhone. The next day I was notified to say I hadn’t got the job. Overall the whole experience was just so unprofessional. I had previously worked at River Island for 12 months at another store and their interview process was nothing like this. I just wasn’t happy leaving my identification on someone else’s phone! I did end up complaining and taking this further. Hopefully no one else experiences this!

When i got there, there was a lot of other people, about 15 others and we was all in one room and she asked a question and we had to answer one by one. Then, we had to pick a celebrity and go to the shop floor and find an outfit for them to wear on the red carpet then come back and act out being the celebrity and being a sales assistant.
