What a horrendous company. I interviewed with a recruiter who told me she loved my resume and was going to set me up with the hiring manager to speak with as soon as possible. She asked if I had any other offers on the table. I did. She then asked me if I could hold off on accepting my other offers until I spoke with the hiring manager. Pretty bold statement so I was feeling like the interview must have gone well. But…. 1 week goes by. No 2nd interview on my calendar. I try to call, text and email this recruiter and get no response. Another week goes by. I reach out to a different recruiter on LinkedIn who puts me in touch with the original recruiter who says she “tried calling me but my phone didn’t work.” Ironic since my phone worked for everyone else. So she sets me up to have an interview with the hiring manager. It seems to go well… but then I don’t hear back for a couple more weeks. Then the recruiter calls to tell me I was their 2nd choice but they were going to offer the position to someone with a little more experience than me. (I have 7 years of experience in the alcohol industry doing this same job but in a different state). She tells me if I see any other openings in the company to please let her know. Something opened less than a month later but when I reached out, I was ghosted. A few months later, a new Sazerac recruiter reaches out to me via email saying they’d like to speak with me about a position and to please schedule an interview. The night before that interview, literally at around 9pm at night, the recruiter emails and says that because I already interviewed for a position previously and wasn’t selected, she wouldn’t be able to interview me. This company is so insanely unprofessional and full of people who clearly don’t know what they are doing or have any sense of customer service or candidate experience. I noticed the same role I applied for has had job postings pop up at least twice since then so clearly they are either hiring the wrong people or are equally terrible to work for and can’t keep talent. As awful as an interview experience as it was, I think I dodged a bullet by not getting the chance to work for this company.
