My experience with the interview process at Simployer was very poor.
From the beginning, I was genuinely interested in the role and transparent about my background. I am fluent in Swedish, but I have not worked in sales on the Swedish market as I have been outside Sweden for 13 years. I was told early in the process that this would not be an issue, as English is used internally and in customer interactions.
Despite this, the process became increasingly inconsistent. I went through four interview stages and a role play, but the expectations around language and evaluation criteria shifted during the process. At times it felt like I was being evaluated as if I could not speak Swedish at all, despite my clear communication from day one.
There also appeared to be a lack of internal alignment between interviewers, which created confusion about what was actually required for the role.
Communication throughout the process was another major issue. I did not receive updates within the timeframes I was given and repeatedly had to follow up myself to get responses or status updates.
In the final stage, I was informed that the decision not to move forward was based on uncertainty about my ability to sell in Swedish — which was the exact point I had been transparent about from the beginning.
To be clear, this feedback is not about disagreeing with the hiring decision. It is about the process leading up to it.
Key issues in my experience:
* Inconsistent expectations throughout the process
* Lack of internal alignment between interviewers
* Poor communication and delayed feedback
* Changing evaluation criteria during later stages
Overall, the process felt disorganized and not respectful of the time invested by candidates.
