I was taken back by this potential discriminatory question and almost didn’t answer it, but instead made a joke about it and told him how old I was. I suspect this was the question partly prevented me from moving forward in the interview process. Two weeks later, I emailed HR rep and received a standard email indicating “we have made the difficult decision to move forward with other candidates at this time”. So then I texted the hiring manager seeking feedback why I was not selected for an in office interview. Got no response after a week.
