Colloquio per Test Engineer, Powertrain Components (Starship)

      30 giu 2026

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso SpaceX nel mese di giu 2026

      Colloquio

Interviewer was 30 minutes late and the questions were normal, asked about what you know about starship, my experience etc. Technical questions were on basic fundamentals and I expected to focus on what my experience and degree is in (Electrical Engineering) but all technical questions were focused on mechanical engineering fundamentals, even when the position mentions for mechanical or electrical experience and not both in its requirements. Why a recruiter would decide to give an electrical engineer mechanical engineering questions out of nowhere (when I have my relevant coursework all in EE) and when the job requirements do not specify for it truly made this experience negative. Alongside these issues, the interviewer himself was fairly rude and negative and would talk down on my experience and projects, saying he does not see the value in any of my experiences, my senior design project or any of my experience in project teams. SpaceX has also been the only company I have seen to place such an emphasis on SAT scores, as the interviewer also did not like the fact that I did not take the SAT for some reason even though the UC's and my alma mater that was a UC did not require SAT for admission and he would keep stating it is impossible for me to not have taken it. Why a standardized test you take in high school should even matter in a position one applies to several years after you take it is truly beyond me but expect to answer this. Overall, this was a very negative and disorganized experience which may only apply to this position and may not happen to all but with all the companies I've interviewed with (BAE, Lockheed, Northrop, True Anomaly, etc), SpaceX has been the absolute interview experience I have had and I have never experienced such unprofessionalism like this in any other interview. SpaceX does amazing work, but I hope for any other person interviewing here that they do not experience the same issues I faced
