They bring you in for an interview. In the interview they like to see outgoing, fun, passionate individuals. Make sure to dress cute, but still work appropriate, I recommend business casual. If you pass the interview, they call you back for a trial run. In the trial run you receive basic training, and eventually help customers on your own, so the managers can determine if you are right for the job and the company. Even if you are not hired after the trial, you will still be paid for your day's work. Passing the interview and receiving the trial run does not at all mean you are likely to get the job. In a sense, the trial is even more important than the interview. If you make it to the trial, make sure to take initiative and show those working that you would be beneficial to the Sprinkles team.

Sent in a resume and cover letter and the next day received a phone call from the GM to do an interview over the phone. It was fairly simple and the GM was really nice. She invited me in for a second interview, which we scheduled for a few days later, which consisted of similar questions, as well as a small test, with some things, like math calculations, state capitals and cute things like, what's your favorite ice cream. After that, she invited me in for a "trial day," a few days after. The trial day was a 2 hr process, (which you get paid for, even if you don't get hired) where you learn the basics of ice cream scooping and all the products they offer. It was fun and everyone was nice. On the spot, after the trial, I was offered a job!
