Very informal. The department director interviewed me in her office. She described the responsibilities of the job and more than once remarked that I appeared to be over qualified for the position. I explained that I was retired and was interested in "staying in the loop" i.e., being up to date on current therapeutic regimens and being familiar with the ever changing formulary of drugs. I emphasized that my taking a position with less authority was insignificant to me and that I felt my broad experience in the field would be an asset to their healthcare team. Following my interview with the director, I was introduced to the three other members of the staff who asked me questions about my professional experiences. They expressed some wonderment that I could be interested in and not become bored with working in such a small hospital environment. After meeting with the staff, I was asked by the director if I had any other questions regarding the job and, having none, I was then told that she would let me know her decision the middle of the following week.
