A brief phone conversation with a recruiter was followed by the super awkward interviewing format of having your digital answers to questions recorded on HireVue, after which point I never heard from the company again. It felt like auditioning for a part in a movie as opposed to interviewing for a trades helper role. Personally, I don't think this is the best way to interview people (unless you're looking for a movie star maybe), and it left a rather poor perception of the company in my mind. Basically I think the idea is to weed people out.
