Colloquio per Marketing Insights and Communication Coordinator

      24 lug 2016
      Candidato anonimo a colloquio
      Los Angeles, CA
      Offerta rifiutata
      Esperienza negativa
      Colloquio facile

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite l'università. La procedura ha richiesto 6 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Talk to Jess (Los Angeles, CA) nel mese di giu 2016

      Colloquio

I applied to the job through my university career portal. This position was advertised as one that would be willing to provide sponsorship to international applicants, hence I applied to the position. The interview process took more than a month. After an initial phone interview with the marketing coordinator, I was asked to submit an assignment with a market research and social media component before the face to face interview was scheduled. The personal interview with the CEO and the marketing coordinator was straight forward with the usual question about my previous skills and work experience and my interest in the company. After the personal interview, I was asked to provide 3 professional references which I did. After my references checked out, I was called in for a second face to face interview with the CEO of the company, her personal assistant and the marketing coordinator. This time the questions were more in depth with them wanting to know about how I have dealt with certain situations. A week after the second interview, I received a mail asking if I was still available for the position, to which I replied I was. A week after that, I received a personal e-mail from the CEO, offering me the job, which I accepted. As an international applicant, I was on my Optional Practical Training Program (OPT) and asked the CEO regarding post OPT visa sponsorship options to which she stated that she was unaware of my international applicant status and would talk to her lawyer about visa sponsorship options. More than 10 days with no reply from her, I sent an e-mail inquiring about the status of her talk with her lawyer. She replied stating that she is unable to continue with my hiring and that the hiring team was unaware of the work authorization status they had posted on the career portal. The entire process was a complete waste of time. Even after being the best candidate for the job and even after being offered the job, I was rejected because one of their employees screwed up the work authorization section of the job advertisement. The CEO of the company wasn't even aware of what her hiring team was posting. This clearly shows the lack of communication and credibility of the company.
