This was by FAR my WORST interviewing experience and let me give you guys some insight on why..
- I was told there would be a total of 5 interviews, but once I finished my 5th I was told there would be a 6th “just because”.
- During my 5th interview I was told by my recruiter that there would be a mock role play in front of a panel, so therefore I prepared for it, just for there to not be one.
- Here is by far the biggest RED FLAG. I actually had invested my team to go through all 6 interviews, got an offer, and had a letter drafted up for me, but they declined it after all that because I did not have a Bachelor’s degree. Keep in mind, this was told to me about an hour after I was given the offer. Now let’s backtrack a little bit. As a recruiter and part of leadership, it is your responsibility to filter out candidate’s that do not make sense for the role. Instead I had individual’s who “have” degrees interview me, but couldn’t even get the job right in the first place. What does that say about Tempus?
- Given a rejection, I was told that the recruiter would help me seek out other roles that did not require a degree, but guess where that got me? After a couple attempts to reach out I can confirm that I got ghosted.
- The entire leadership team has been there for less than a year alongside with previous alumni’s as well. I wonder what that say’s about the organization?
First I want to just give my two cents to the organization. I like being mindful and respectful of other people’s time and they were definitely not respectful of mine. Being a veteran in Sales, I have worked for many Fortune 250 organizations and have seen, including myself had success in my Sales role’s. A degree should not dictate whether an individual gets hired or not in Sales because it’s all about your motivation, your curiosity, and your want to build relationships. Tempus is missing out on a TON of talent because of the way they operate. Although, I felt disrespected by this, I felt like I dodged a huge bullet by not joining the organization because if the interview process is already this bad, I can’t imagine being in role. To the entire Tempus Organization- Be mindful of who you select because many talent is being missed. The individual’s that are brought on who have degree’s can’t even do their job correctly, so what does that say about the Organization as a whole? You guy’s have a great product, so do better.
