This process was really disappointing. The screener seemed like she had no interest in conducting the interview and was pretty rude in answering my questions. It felt like she didn't want to engage with me and was urging me off the phone. All told it took 20 minutes. I hung up with a bad taste in my mouth, kind of resentful of an organization that I had for so long admired. Easy questions though. It seems like they use the same exact screener for all candidates. Lots of stuff about yourself and why you want to work there. "Describe an experience when you had to..." kind of stuff.

Overall the interview process was good. The interviewer was honest and open to questions. She made me feel comfortable and gave a very thorough overview of the position responsibilities and organization's exceptions.

When I asked about how racial equity impacts reproductive equity at Cfr, I was told they didn't see the connection. Went on to say if I am asking about diversity -- diversity at Cfr could mean hiring more men as it is 90% women. Also, as it is a global organization -- their hiring practices in NYC are different from Nepal, Colombia, etc. It was a missed opportunity for the organization to show its values. I was disappointed and would not consider working at the Center for Reproductive Rights.
