The interviewer would then point out good ideas discussed and criticize bad ideas. I then received an email to have a phone interview the week following to discuss my experience with children

Pretty Simple. It felt more like a meeting to see how you are as a person. I believe that as long as they know that you know the best course of action when working with kids, you could be a good fit.
