I attended an Interview for a Project Management role at TFL.
In my opinion, it was surprising that my interviewers did not quite understand the principles of project management themselves and found it difficult to relate the differences between project governance and project management for infrastructure delivery, the former facilitating the delivery of the later.
A recruiter’s role in my opinion is to select the best or most suited candidates who can deliver organisational objectives and success criteria in a candid and impartial way without being bias or meretricious.
My advice to Senior Management most respectfully is to use experience and competent recruiters who do not feel challenged by their interviewees and will recruit project team members who can inspire and engage with the stakeholders, delivering successful projects in a straightforward and impartial manner for TfL irrespective of their origins in a diverse world. It is one thing to promote equal opportunity and diversity at work, it’s another to practice this Rhetoric in Stealth. People are smart in my opinion.

A very poor process that was rushed and only thirty minutes with no questions allowed. It did not give a fare appraisal of one's skills or to achieve dialogue. How to declare a long experience in such a short time an it was not in a lift.

Very relaxed interview process. Completed via teams with two senior managers present. Focus on working within a large organisation, challenges of financial management, the culture within the organisation and complex governance processes.
